Ingredients
Sauce:
- 5 cups crushed and strained tomatoes (such as Aurora®)
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes (Optional)
- ground black pepper to taste
Meatballs:
- 1 pound lean ground chicken
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup fresh bread crumbs
- ½ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup grated onion
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ground black pepper to taste
