The Best Garlic Lemon Dill Salmon Recipe

Crispy salmon skin and tender, flaky flesh make this recipe a showstopper. With the combination of tangy lemon, fragrant dill, and savory garlic butter, you’ll be serving up a dish that feels indulgent but is surprisingly easy to prepare. Let’s dive into this delightful recipe that will elevate your seafood game!

Notes on Ingredients

  • Salmon Fillets: Opt for wild-caught salmon for the best flavor. The skin-on fillets help to achieve that irresistible crispy finish.
  • Lemon: Fresh lemon juice is key here. It adds the perfect acidity to balance the rich salmon.
  • Dill: Fresh dill is aromatic and elevates the flavor, but dried dill can be used in a pinch.
  • Garlic: Minced fresh garlic brings a bold depth of flavor.
  • Lemon Pepper Seasoning: This adds a subtle, zesty kick. Feel free to adjust to taste.
  • Butter: Melted butter keeps the salmon moist while adding a rich flavor. Don’t skimp on it!
  • Salt and Pepper: Always essential for seasoning your fish before cooking.

How to Make Garlic Lemon Dill Salmon

  1. Prepare the Garlic Lemon Dill Mixture: In a bowl, combine the melted butter, lemon juice, dill, minced garlic, and lemon pepper seasoning. Mix until well-blended.
  2. Brush the Salmon: Generously brush the top of each salmon fillet with the mixture, making sure every bit is covered in flavor.
  3. Preheat the Skillet: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down. Cook without flipping for about 5 minutes, or until the skin becomes crispy and the salmon starts to look opaque.
  5. Final Sear: Flip the salmon fillets for just a few seconds to get a light sear on top. Remove from the skillet and serve immediately.

How to Serve Garlic Lemon Dill Salmon

For the perfect meal, pair this salmon with simple sides that let the fish shine. Steamed asparagus, roasted potatoes, or a fresh green salad all complement the flavors beautifully. You can also drizzle any extra lemon butter sauce from the pan over the top for extra indulgence!
