- ¼ cup aged balsamic vinegar

- Heat olive oil in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir the onion in the heated oil. Lower the heat to medium-low, cover the saucepan, and cook, occasionally stirring, until the onion becomes soft and caramelized, which should take about 20 to 25 minutes.
