Treat yourself today with my favorite way to make French toast!
They are seriously so good!
Ingredients :
- 8 thick slices of day old, wheat ciabatta bread
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup oat milk
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp ground flax seeds
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp kala namak salt (aka black salt for a slight „eggy flavor“)
- 1 tbsp vegan butter
Toppings:
- Dark cherries
- Maple syrup
- Powdered sugar
Method:
In a small food processor (or blender) blend up banana, oat milk, flax seeds, maple syrup, nutritional yeast, black salt, cinnamon and vanilla until smooth and pour into a shallow bowl. Soak ciabatta slices in that mixture and fry them with the vegan butter on low medium heat until golden from both sides (3-4 min). I used meltorganic and it was perfect for this recipe!
Served with a tiny bit of powdered sugar, lots of dark cherry compote and a drizzle of maple syrup.
Enjoy if you give it a try💕
